The Cottages

Malamo Cottage consists of two traditional stone houses, built next to each other in the small village
of Lychna. The houses have been renovated to provide comfortable accommodation - they can be rented as one cottage to accommodate 5-6 persons, or as separate
cottages for 2-3 persons each. If preferred only one of the cottages can be rented.
The cottages are located within a large garden which is at the rear of the main house, found on the village square. Cottage A has a patio sitting area which is surrounded by flowers. Cottage B has access from the courtyard of the main house. Each cottage consists of two rooms - a living/dining room with a kitchenette and a bedroom with two single beds (an extra bed can be provided). Cottage A has a small bathroom, cottage B has a WC/shower room which is located just outside the cottage.
Both cottages are equipped with a small electric oven, a fridge, kettle, cooking pans and plenty of cutlery; towels and bed sheets are also provided, (you have to bring your own beach towels). The front cottage also has an air conditioning unit. A small TV, a barbecue as well as tourist guides to the island and other important information are also available. Parking spaces are provided.
LYCHNA is a small and quiet village which is located in the middle of the island within the Bay of Moudros. It is a ten minute walk to the nearest beach, a five minute journey by car from the airport and just twenty five minutes from Myrina which is the main port of the island.
The village has a small taverna (offering traditional, local meze) which, together with the church on the little square, form the heart of the village. There is one shop for your basic supplies, but traveling fishermen and greengrocers visit the village square every day during the summer season. The nearest town of Moudros offers many facilities and services, a variety of shops, banks, chemists, and plenty of tavernas.
Unspoilt surroundings offer plenty of opportunities for walking excursions to nearby beaches and surrounding hills. Old footpaths will lead you to tiny country churches and nearby villages, such as Varos and Repanidi.
We can help you organise day trips and give you information about places of interest to visit. We could also help you with your transfer from the airport or from the port of Myrina by helping you rent a taxi or rent a car.
